Gov. Mitt Romney drew hundreds of supporters to a town hall for his presidential campaign at Dewey Lowman American Legion Post 109 in Arbutus, Md., on Wednesday, March 22, 2012. Several local and state officials were part of the crowd, including former Gov. Bob Ehrlich (clapping).

Jim Nilson, 69, of Buckingham, Va., parked his truck outside the post. He said he's been following the Romney campaign trail since Aug. 16, 2012.

The line at Dewey Lowman American Legion Post 109 began to form around 1:30 p.m., two hours before Romney was scheduled to speak. Hundreds turned out for the event that required no ticket or invitation.

Republican hopeful Mitt Romney discussed the economy and said Pres. Obama was "clueless" about how to fix it.

Hungry kids and 63,000 voter IDs

Iyana Nixon, 8, second from the right, giggles with a classmate while taking a drink at the end of a lunch period Tuesday at Honduras Elementary School in East Houma. More than 20 percent of children in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes are a part of families that could not provide a meal at some point in 2011, according to a new report from Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana and Feeding America, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization.

About 63,000 new voter identification cards sit on a cart behind government employees Jerome Young and Catrina Adams Tuesday at the Government Tower in Houma, waiting to be mailed to "every last registered voter in Terrebonne Parish," Young said. The U.S. Justice Department recently approved new parish-council voting districts for the Oct. 22 elections based on population shifts reflected in the 2010 U.S. Census.

While some of the Thibodaux community has reacted strongly to the media attention it has received in the wake of 7-year-old Jori Lirette's death, one of the attendees at the candlelight vigil held in his honor Sunday at Peltier Park in Thibodaux ignored it. Nelma Naquin, in pink, sat in front of several TV cameras because she "wanted to hear and see what was going on," she said.
